2020 Cape Town Cycle Tour

The 2020 Cape Town Cycle Tour will be one of the biggest cycling events in the world. There will be a week of activities and events leading up to the main race on Sunday, 8 March. This celebration of cycling has gained infamy around the world for being one of the most scenic and challenging races. It embraces human-powered transport and peak athleticism.

The Cape Town Cycle Tour Lifecycle Week begins on Sunday, 1 March 2020 with the junior race. This event lets children, up to the age of 12, cycle within the safety of the Cape Town Stadium precinct – the same venue as registration for the main event. The Junior Tour offers three distances (1.3km, 4km or 7km), tailored for six different age groups. Each finisher will receive a medal and there will be numerous entertainment offerings after the races, including snake exhibitions, magicians and lucky draws.

South Africa’s biggest cycling exhibition, the Cape Town Cycle Tour Expo will also be hosted at the stadium from Thursday, 5 March to Saturday, 7 March 2020. Over 300 exhibitors will showcase their cycling-related products and services. Event organisers expect 70 000 visitors to the expo over the three days. The expo will even have travel agents on-hand and a medical team to check cyclists’ blood pressure before the main race on Sunday.

Entrance fees for the 2020 Cape Town Cycle Tour range from R470 to R1100 per rider. Entry to the expo will cost R50 per adult and is free for children under the age of 12 and for cyclists with their race chips. For more information, visit CapeTownCycleTour.com
