The best time of year to visit will depend on your personal interests and your budget. The majority of the hotels and lodges charge high rates in the peak summer holiday season between December and January, but after that, they start to decrease their rates radically from May to September, so if you are looking for the most bang for your buck, this is the best time to come.

There are also lots of things to see at this time of year when the whale watching season starts and the desert flowers are in full bloom. The only concern is the rainy weather and even though the Cape does have many warm sunny days, most of the region’s rainfall occurs during the winter months.
