Kommetjie
Kommetjie is a little village situated south of Chapmans Peak and Noordhoek beach. The word Kommetjie is Afrikaans for “small basin” and is surrounded by a rocky outcrop which creates powerful waves, perfect for surfing, kite-surfing and wind surfing.
There are not too many shops in Kommetjie, but they include a cafe, a convenience store, post office and a good selection of restaurants to choose from. It is a great bird watching area and there are some beautiful hikes in the area.
Another great thing to do is to climb to the top of the Kommetjie Lighthouse, or the Slangkoppunt Lighthouse, and see the view all the way to Cape Point Nature Reserve and Hout Bay.
