Hout Bay
Hout Bay is a dynamic little coastal town with a beautiful beach that is great for swimming and a charming harbour where you can hop on a boat to visit Seal Island. Hout Bay is well-known for its scenic beauty, but it is also famous for its fishing and it is regarded as the hub of Cape Town’s crayfish industry.
You will find yourself staring out to sea when you arrive in Hout Bay. The views of the sea are mesmerizing and the long sandy beach is the perfect place for a swim and water sports like sailing, fishing, sea kayaking and surfing. The mountains also provide outstanding hiking excursions.
Hout Bay’s main road is full of fascinating little shops, cafes, ice cream parlours as well as a marvellous craft market held every Sunday. The Hout Bay fishing harbour is still fully operational and boats bring in fresh tuna and crayfish on a daily basis.
The Bay Harbour Market showcases locals’ creative energy and the vibrancy of South Africa. It offers a diverse mix of African artworks, interesting crafts, fashion and of course delicious food that will excite all your senses. More than 100 stalls offer everything from crayfish to cappuccinos and is the city’s most diverse weekend hotspot.
There are a number of things you can do in Hout Bay like boat trips in a glass-bottomed boat, diving & fishing. Hout Bay originally got its name from Dutch pioneers who settled in the region and used the timber from the wooded valleys to build Cape Town.

It is best to visit Llandudno during the summer months between November and April when the days are hot. During the autumn and winter period, the weather tends to get cold and wet.
If you are looking for a quiet beach in December, will be best to avoid Llandudno when most of the local residents enjoy their annual break. The beach is popular in the summer time, so parking can become tricky!
