Green Point

Green Point is located between the V&A Waterfront and Signal Hill. It is an extremely popular residential area for young professionals as well as the Cape Town gay and lesbian community.

Here you will find the Cape Town Stadium, which was one of the proud hosts of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Other interesting attractions close by include the Green Point Urban Park, the Metropolitan Golf Course and a variety of sports fields.

Every Sunday there is a flea market held in the stadium where you will find everything from delectable food stuffs to lovely African curios. The whole area around the stadium has been converted into a beautiful public park with wide paved pathways that offer ample space for both pedestrians to walk on and cyclists to utilise. There are also little ‘islands’ with lots of shady trees as well as an assortment of structures you can relax and enjoy a picnic. There are clean toilet facilities and friendly guards on patrol all day and night.

Green Point Urban Park is open to the public 7 days a week. Here you will find lots of wide open spaces, outdoor gym facilities as well as a biodiversity garden where you can learn more about local plant species and the history of the Khoisan groups.

Green Point is also home to many stylish restaurants and busy bars. The whole area exudes positive energy and it is situated close to all the major tourist attractions like Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront.
